Sunroom

I couldn't add this picture to my "Window box" post below..but this my sunroom..with yes...a permanet fixture of a Shop Vac..for the dog hair...I am thinking of a cream and sepia slipcover with pearl accents.. for the Shopvac so it goes with my house since its allways in the room? what do you think???

Indoor Window Box

Well today was cloudy and overcast..kindof a blah day..I cuddled and watched tv with my 2 boys (Toby and Jujube)and researched on the computer most of the day...

Everytime time I passed by my Sunroon to my kitchen for another mug of coffee..I looked at my windowbox and flowers in my sunroom and they made me smile...I made a faux windowbox which I plant seasonal flowers there all the time...changing with the time of year .This year they look fake almost they are so perfect....I do all my painting and working in there. I have paint and brushes scattered around.(messy).I have a large hutch that I placed there for storage..but it obviously didn't work....The floor is ruined now...and the sofa has seen alot of wear...( its the favorite place for my dogs to sleep) I keep a old quilt on it to spread .We lie there on warm afternoons when its sunny and it catches wonderful breezes that bring all the scents from the garden in....its a great place to nap....I thought I would share it would you..I love this space.

Cream and Blue Hutch

fyi: Click on pictures to see closer!
Well I decided to try (attempt ) the technique Tiina from Dream in Cream uses on her beautiful furniture...I added dusty blue for the inside of the hutch.
I got this little country hutch for $60, nothing to spectacular in maple, but needing some love.. and I was really happy how it turned out. It looks so much better in person, my photography skills could not capture the colors to good...the stain gel really gives it a old creamy antique look, and the dusty blue inside the hutch looks fantastic with the stain over it... The wood color is alot more creamy not as white as it looks on the photo. I need to replace the bottom hardware and go over with a artist brush were the blue and cream meet..so it looks seamless..(harder than I thought it would be!! )
My first attempt with this method and I can't wait to do my bedroom furniture next! I really liked the look.. the only thing is my gloves broke somehow when I was staining and now the stain is under my nails and I can't get his off.. I look like I have dirt under my nails...I'm going to be on the lookout now for some nice pieces of furniture to do this on again!

Chairs Orange to Dreamy

I really like how these chairs came out...i went to a fantastic Estate sale this weekend Friday.

A house that had been used as storage by 2 eccentric women that lived in this town over 25 yrs and were very wealthy and well traveled.. They actually lived in a Inn in town and used this house to store all their treasures from their travels... Well me and my friend and partner at the shop.. stood in line early ..and were one of the first...I was sooo excited to see all the amazing things there ...you know heart palpitations, hot flash..ect..... There were alot of dealers and so you had to choose quickly or else..if you snooze you lose!....I passed these chairs all Friday cus there were so full of things and the bright orange and leopard orange print.. well ....My partner said you could refinish those chairs....they were $5. ea!... well after I took all my stuff home i thought about it and wondered if they would be there the next day....surely someone would see the potential.....well they were!! Their ugliness was my luck...no one wanted them...so here they are, they will be in my booth this week all 4 chairs....I really like them!

Blank Slate..Blank Mind....

Well my bedroom redo continues at a snail pace...I finally covered the Oval frame I had which I posted couple weeks ago with a nice linen fabric...hung it and my mind continues to go blank..
The project is at a standstill...my mind is conflicted.. what to do next??? Maybe its a side effect of doing too many projects and things at one time...??? I don't know..so I decided to actually post my delema...
The inside of the frame used to have a floral fabric...(I first thought a mirror would be good..but my room had so many mirrors already another mirror would be overkill and it would only reflect the tv...)..I was thinking a nice tapestry to mimic my rug design or a antique lace piece in the middle with my same color scheme of cream, taupe, white, and sepia tones......for a while a small oval ornate mirror frame was in the running which I added a strand of pearls all around its edge....but that also..didn't quite feel right......SO it continues to hang there blank...eventually I'll be shopping somewhere and I'll see the perfect thing...but for now.. its a blank slate...and I move on to other projects and just lay on my bed and stare at my blank frame.... hoping inspiration will
come calling....

My greenhouse and garden in progress...

Well I tried to do a test post from Flicker..I have been trying to upload all my garden photos in a cluster like many people do......and.I was a total failure!!!...couldn't post pictures in a group only 1 at a time....so ....Today was a sunny morning...we have had fog and wind and rain for couple days and I decided to go outside and take pictures of my new greenhouse my husband made me out of old vintage windows and doors..I love it ..its rustic and differant and reminds me of a childs playhouse...I added flower boxes under the windows and a pair of curtians will soon flank the sides to hide the posts that peak out from the windows..I added shelves and racks for my vegi's that are already growing there...it has two long french doors on either side that swing up for ventilation . And when I open the door every morning the smell of the herbs especially the Basil..is just heavenly!

Jujube and Toby my 2 bad boys are both plotting daily on how they can go in and mark (pee) all over to make it thier own....thus the big latch we added...I added some pictures of my garden which is starting to bloom nicely...though I have been neglecting it these days..Lets hope the sun stays with us and no more wind!!!!! have a nice day!

Chairs on a Whim

I was sooo tired today..did alot the night before..and my allergies have just started to get under control...So I did not plan to do anything..today..but as I was cleaning up I happened to pass these 2 old wood folding chairs I have bought couple weeks ago...and all of a sudden....On a Whim..out of nowhere....

I suddenly pulled out my brush and paints and staple gun and fabric...and before I knew it they were done! Now why can't I do all my projects like that??? This is my first time painting something black also! Odd how inspiration and creativity..can't be called up on command...at least for me..its always on a sudden whim...and then I go!
